Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) canceled the co-located conferences WorldPM2020, AMPM2020, and Tungsten2020 that were scheduled for June 27-July 1, 2020, in Montréal, Canada.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several tradeshows originally scheduled for spring have been forced to cancel or reschedule.

WorldPM2020

Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) canceled the co-located conferences WorldPM2020, the World Congress on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials; AMPM2020, Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy; and Tungsten2020, the International Conference on Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials that were scheduled for June 27-July 1, 2020, in Montréal, Canada.

“After thoughtful deliberation, MPIF leadership has made the difficult decision to cancel. The conferences will not be rescheduled,” said James P. Adams, MPIF Executive Director/CEO. “The health, safety, and well-being of the global powder metallurgy community is our highest priority. Reports from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); the announcement by the World Health Organization (WHO) declaring a pandemic; numerous companies, universities, and government institutions initiating travel restrictions; and ever-increasing numbers of confirmed COVID-19 cases all provided a clear need to take this action.”

Ceramics Expo 2020

Ceramics Expo 2020 has been rescheduled due to COVID-19. The new dates are September 22-23, 2020.

Having closely monitored recent developments around the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), and listened to feedback from across the industry, organizers have decided to postpone Ceramics Expo 2020 with alternative dates in the fall.

“As concerns rise regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus) containment, many organizations are limiting travel and discretionary participation in large-group settings,” said Mark Wolf, vice president of Kyocera International Inc. “We at Kyocera recommend a conservative approach and are in full support of Smarter Shows’ plan to postpone Ceramics Expo.”

“Whilst we’re disappointed the event isn’t taking place in May, as we had originally planned, our new dates in September have given us the opportunity to fully focus on delivering a successful 2020 edition,” said Danny Scott, event director, Ceramics Expo 2020. “We appreciate the support we have received from our key partners — around the decision to postpone — and we’re anticipating a hugely successful event, featuring the same amazing speakers and the same unique mix of exhibitors, when it takes place in September.”

Women in Finishing FORUM

As a result of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI) has postponed the 2020 Women in Finishing FORUM. The event has been rescheduled for April 28-30, 2021, at the Embassy Suites South Bend at Notre Dame.

An outstanding program was set for the 2020 FORUM featuring presenters from John Deere, Carlisle Fluid Technologies, Graco Inc., and more. A tour of local manufacturer, Lippert Components Inc., finishing operations was to be a highlight of the event.

“Our goal is to ‘copy and paste’ the 2020 program into the 2021 dates,” said Sheila LaMothe, Women in Finishing program manager. “Nearly all of our speakers have already added the new dates to their schedule and intend to present.”
