Leading the Charge: Decarbonization SUMMIT Returns with New Insights and Solutions

One of the greatest benefits of IHEA membership is the resources to help member companies and their customers navigate change. The 2025 Industrial Heating Decarbonization SUMMIT, scheduled for September 29 – October 1 in Indianapolis, Indiana, promises to provide a dynamic and impactful experience. With its high-level presentations, interactive discussions, and invaluable networking opportunities, the SUMMIT is an essential gathering for those charting a path toward a carbon-neutral outcome. The goal of the SUMMIT is to tackle the decarbonization challenges in the industrial heating industry and have attendees walk away armed with information and details that can begin helping your operations now.

“IHEA’s Industrial Heating Decarbonization SUMMIT is the most comprehensive collection of presentations and colleagues dealing with sustainability and decarbonization within the industry,” said Chad Spore, John Deere’s enterprise materials engineering supervisor, metals – region 4. “You will walk away with confidence on how to take on this challenge within your business.”

The past year ushered in significant transformation, marked by major shifts in the political climate. IHEA introduced the inaugural Industrial Heating Decarbonization SUMMIT to help our members and markets navigate rapid developments in renewable energy, energy management, and environmental stewardship. The excitement from the successful event is still going strong as IHEA works to bring fresh insights and valuable resources to the forefront.

Advance Your Skills with IHEA’s Online Learning

IHEA’s online courses have been a successful source of high-level education for those who prefer a virtual learning experience. The Fundamentals of Industrial Process Heating will run from September 2 through October 15. This extensive six-week course provides a basic understanding of process heating, and an engineering background is recommended to take this course. The curriculum includes the basics of heat transfer, fuels and combustion, energy use, furnace design, refractories, automatic control, and atmospheres as applied to industrial process heating. Weekly coursework, quizzes, and a final exam project are administered to guide students on their progress and evaluate their knowledge of the material. Moderator interaction is available during the weekly forum discussions and via email for questions and to review the coursework.
