A Vector 6-bar vacuum furnace is the latest addition to a family business’ portfolio of thermal-processing equipment that already includes nearly a dozen Seco/Vacuum and Seco/Warwick furnaces.
This new Vector is horizontally configured with a 24x24x36 inch (600x600x900 mm) hot zone equipped for a payload of 1,750lbs (800kg), which will be handled with the Seco/Vacuum-provided loader.
Vector furnaces can be used for most standard hardening, tempering, annealing, solution heat-treating and brazing processes. In customizing for their operations, the company has specified the vacuum furnace to meet the rigorous heat-treating standards of the aerospace industry, one of the industries they serve. As such, the 6-bar Vector is equipped for dual gas quench with nitrogen, argon, or any partial-pressure of the two, automatically set and maintained according to the batch recipe. It is also equipped with high-vacuum system with a diffusion pump, key features for many aerospace-grade thermal processes.
“Our ongoing success is powered by our partnership with Seco/Warwick,” said the business’ director of operations, and one of the family-business owners. “This state-of-the-art furnace introduces advanced automation, ensuring faster turnaround times while maintaining the highest quality standards for our customers. Additionally, this new technology enhances our capabilities, granting us the confidence to enter new markets and secure new opportunities with exceptional reliability.”
“We never take that partnership for granted,” said Seco/Vacuum managing director Piotr Zawistowski. “When we say, ‘We support your success,’ that is an ongoing commitment.”
As part of that ongoing commitment, Seco/Vacuum has built Furnace/Plus, a proprietary customer portal to support the success of its partners. The suite of analytical tools and services takes customer service beyond just responding to equipment needs, but even to predicting them.
In a first for this partner’s furnace portfolio, the new furnace control system includes access to Furnace/Plus features including Seco/Preventive, a tool for arranging maintenance-related activities and inspections of their equipment, and Seco/Predictive, an intelligent furnace control system that not only detects potential failures before they occur, but also notifies users to corrective measures long in advance.
