Wisconsin Oven Corporation has shipped one gasfired EWN batch oven with a powered load car to a manufacturer in the electrical power industry.

This industrial curing oven will be used for curing resin on transformers.

The curing oven is designed to heat 8,820 pounds of steel and has a maximum operating temperature of 400°F. The work chamber dimensions are 5’ wide x 11’ long x 8’ high. A combination airflow system delivers both horizontal and vertical upward airflow to maximize heating rates and ensure uniform temperature distribution throughout the workload for consistent curing results.

The oven is equipped with a vertical lift, pneumatically operated door, and a powered load car rated to support up to 8,820 pounds. The load car features a reinforced steel bar grating surface for handling heavy loads and provides efficient loading and unloading.

The control system uses a Watlow F4T paperless digital recorder and programmable temperature controller for precise temperature control and data logging capabilities. The controller includes a color touchscreen interface, recipe management, graphical trending, and Ethernet communication for process monitoring.

A high limit instrument and flame safety system are included to ensure safe operation. Additional safety features include an LEL sensor and aspirator panel that continuously monitors solvent concentration levels. The system will automatically shut off the heat if solvent levels exceed the preset limit.

This curing oven was designed to process large transformer assemblies and maintain consistent temperature uniformity throughout the product load,” said Mark Schahczinski, senior sales engineer. In addition to optimizing airflow and material handling, the system includes safety features that monitor solvent levels to help protect both the equipment and operators during operation.”

Unique features of this curing oven include:

  • Powered load car designed for heavy product loading.
  • Vertical lift door.
  • Watlow F4T programmable controller with data logging and recipe management.
  • Safety monitoring system for solvent detection.

This curing oven was fully factory tested and adjusted prior to shipment from the Wisconsin Oven facility. All safety interlocks were checked for proper operation, and the equipment was operated at the normal and maximum operating temperatures. An extensive quality assurance check list was completed to ensure the equipment met all Wisconsin Oven quality standards.
