Tenova Core has been contracted by Steel Dynamics, Inc., for the design and supply of a 100 ton/hour walking beam reheating furnace at its Pittsboro, Indiana facility.
The furnace will be reheating plain carbon, low alloy, high alloy billets and blooms that will be used for rolling of Special Bar Quality (SBQ).
The walking beam furnace will be equipped with Tenova LOI Italimpianti Flexytech low NOx burners for reduced emissions. Tenova 2 thermodynamic modeling system for efficient heating of the steel. Start-up is scheduled for 2013.
