Gruenberg®, a leading manufacturer of industrial ovens and sterilizers, shipped a custom Gruenberg conveyor oven to the semiconductor industry for drying a specialized coating onto small parts.
The electrically heated drying oven has a maximum temperature rating of 450°F and is configured with one heating module and one cooling module. The system uses high-volume vertical down airflow which forces the heated air down through the product and then re-circulating it through side-mounted return ducts back to the conditioning plenum. This design ensures optimal heat transfer and uniform drying across the product load on the conveyor belt. A 60 CFM powered exhaust is also installed to provide an adequate exchange of air for proper moisture removal.
The industrial conveyor oven’s interior chamber is constructed of 316 stainless steel and has dimensions of 34” W x 66” L x 16” H (10” above belt). A continuously welded liner separates the chamber from the insulation to prevent contamination of the product. The product load is transported through the oven on a chain-driven, 316SS balanced mesh conveyor belt powered by a variable frequency drive to allow for speed adjustments.
The oven temperature is controlled by a Watlow EZ Zone PM single set-point controller with TRU-TUNE™+ adaptive PID control for tight thermal response and quick startup. A Watlow high-limit controller provides over-temperature protection by shutting down the heating system in the event temperatures exceed preset limits.
