Nels Plough

is currently the president of Stack Metallurgical Services, a heat treat company located in Portland, Oregon. Stack Metallurgical heat treats a wide range of products, ranging from aerospace and knife & tool, to heavy industry applications including gear components. He has been with Stack over 16 years, beginning as staff metallurgist, and also serving as operations manager. Previous positions also include work in the steel foundry and steel service industries. Nels received a Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy from the University of Washington. He has been a member of ASM for over 20 years, and has taught various classes in Metallurgy, Heat Treatment, and Failure Analysis for the local Oregon chapter.
