Centorr Vacuum Industries has named Sean P. Murphy to the position of product manager for laboratory and R&D furnaces.
Murphy will be responsible for more than 30 different vacuum furnace product lines used in laboratory settings for the metals, ceramics, and carbon/graphite/composites industries. His customer base will be the national laboratories, universities, and industrial clients wanting smaller laboratory and R&D-sized equipment worldwide.
Murphy is an active member of the American Ceramic Society, ASM Heat Treat Society, and the Society of Automotive Engineers. Sean was previously with Osram Sylania’s Exeter, New Hampshire, location and was a senior manufacturing manager responsible for micro-LED ceramic automotive products. Murphy has experience with hydrogen sintering, spark plasma sintering, annealing, and a variety of manufacturing operations. He has a Bachelor of Science in ceramic engineering from Alfred University and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.
