In order to keep up with the rise in production and new orders from the industrial and automotive sectors, the Capi Group has boosted its nitriding/nitrocarburizing capacity.

Recently, the Italian gear manufacturer ordered two more Nitrex large-capacity nitriding systems. Capi has been using Nitrex systems since 2018.

“The latest purchase is the result of many years of cooperation and trust,” said Marcin Stokłosa, project manager at Nitrex. “The Capi Group has gained trust in the benefits that our systems and process technologies provide, as well as in our quality guarantee and strong after-sales technical support services, which satisfy the need to maximize gear life, reliability, and performance. This new order is a continuation of our collaboration, and we look forward to strengthening this partnership further.”

The Capi Group now owns four pit-type nitriding/nitrocarburizing furnaces of the same model type and size – the large heavy-duty NX-1230 furnace with a load capacity of 11,570 pounds (5,250 kg), which uses Nitreg® and Nitreg®-C technologies for results that are guaranteed to be repeatable and consistent. The addition of accelerated cooling technology shortens the cooling period, allowing for faster output. The NX furnace design assures +/-3°C temperature homogeneity in the retort. The eco-friendly IN-500 exhaust neutralizer supports a clean and green operation.

The new Nitrex furnaces, which comply with the Aerospace Material Specifications (AMS) 2750 for pyrometry and 2759/10 for controlled nitriding, are integrated into the existing production line and connected to a closed-loop water cooling system. The latter is an environmentally friendly feature that recirculates a steady supply of cooling water to cool furnace elements.

The new systems have been operational for a few months.
