Miba Sinter USA LLC, McConnelsville, Ohio, has invested $7 million to double the size of its sintering plant by February 2014. A division of the Miba Group, Miba Sinter offers upper end, highly technical, sintered solutions for the automotive industry. It produces complex parts by means of its sophisticated iron powder sintering process. Sinter produces parts for Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, and Volkswagen, among others.

“We will be hiring another 30 people within the next six months, and will create about 100 jobs within three years,” said Steve Krise, site manager of Miba Sinter Group in McConnelsville. Built only three years ago, the plant has been rapidly expanding, and now has about $30 million in investments and equipment.

The Miba Group is a leading technology company headquartered in Austria, and recently reported fiscal year-end sales up 2.4% over last year, with actual earnings up 4.2%.  The company has about 20 sites around the world and has about 4300 employees.
